Mu Colorado Castile, Coconut Castile & April's Goat Milk Castile (Fort Collins Loveland Longmont)
Our Colorado Castile, Coconut Castile, and April's Goat Milk soaps have no added colour or fragrance, and are made from extra-virgin olive oil, organic coconut oil, locally-sourced raw goat milk, and hand-produced tallow.
This combination produces a creamy, long-lasting soap bar with a rich, nourishing lather. Unlike commercially produced soaps, all the natural glycerin remains in our soap; glycerin is a natural moisturizer, and is not drying to the skin.
Olive oil is extremely moisturizing, is rich in antioxidants such as vitamins A and E, and contains chlorophyll which has healing properties.
Coconut oil contains lauric acid which in addition to giving a wonderful, creamy lather in soap and balm for your dry skin, is naturally anti-viral.
Goat milk in soap contains many vitamins, but is especially high in vitamin A which helps to repair damaged skin. Capric/capryllic triglyceride is naturally present in goat's milk and is a highly effective moisturizer. In addition, lactic acid (an alpha-hydroxy acid) effectively removes dead skin cells and is thought to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin.
Tallow is high in oleic, palmitic, and stearic acids. This gives a creamy lather and good conditioning properties to soap. It also results in a harder bar, facilitating longer use. Glycerin from tallow is chemically closer to the naturally-occurring oils on your own skin, and thus can be less drying than soap made from 100% plant-based oils. Tallow-based soap is also great for shaving!
The Japanese word Mu, for which the closest English translation is "no-thing," means our soap has no added colour or fragrance.
The symbol Mu is the 12th letter of the Greek alphabet, and is the coefficient of friction. (friction makes soap lather)
Mu sounds phonetically like the speech of a cow, from which we make our tallow.
