I bought this chair from an antique store in Golden, CO. They had purchased the chair from the Astor House Museum in Golden. I was told that it belonged to one of the first settlers to Golden and probably dates back to the 1870's. I believe the family's last name was Pott or Potts. I had a profession re-upholster the seat, but it was restuffed with the original horsehair stuffing. This is a beautiful chair with a lot of detail. I have inherited a similar type rocking chair from my great grandmother and I do not need two rocking chairs. I am asking $175 cash. Great price for this oak rocker and all of its history.
