Beautiful, original-matching Schatz 8-Day Ship’s Bell Clock and Barometer, purchased new in December 1975 while I was deployed in Europe with the U.S. Navy. I am the sole original owner.
This classic German-made set features the iconic ship’s wheel brass housings, precision mechanical movements, and timeless nautical styling. Both pieces are in excellent cosmetic and working condition, cared for meticulously, and used only sparingly since purchase.
Schatz instruments from this era are known for their craftsmanship, reliability, and collectibility, and complete sets with documentation are increasingly difficult to find. Given the exceptional condition and original provenance, this set is priced competitively and fairly priced. Ideal for Nautical collectors & Retired active duty Navy/Sailing community.

Both the clock and barometer are in excellent overall condition, with only minimal signs of age. Brass surfaces are bright and well-maintained. This set has not been polished recently nor professionally. The clock runs properly, and the ship’s bell strike functions as intended.
These pieces were displayed only occasionally and stored carefully for decades. This set is true 1970’s Schatz originals, no later
reproductions ; matching factory paired set. Complete with manual + original key, rarely found together. The brass housings remain bright and clean; both dials are clear and well preserved, with smooth pointer. These Schatz ship’s wheel sets are sought after by maritime collectors and are becoming increasingly hard to find in this condition, especially with original documentation.
