Beautiful vintage Hartmann wardrobe trunk from the 1920s golden age of travel. This 42” tall steamer trunk features the highly sought-after blue fabric interior lining (much rarer than the standard green), all original brass hardware in working condition, wooden hangers, pull-out drawers, and organizing compartments. Made by the prestigious Hartmann Trunk Company of Racine, Wisconsin - the American equivalent of Louis Vuitton in its heyday. Complete with all original keys. Also includes matching vintage Hartmann briefcase with keys.
The trunk shows honest age-appropriate wear on the exterior that gives it authentic character, but all drawers, latches, and locks function properly. Missing only the bottom drawer, but otherwise complete with all original interior fittings intact. This is a substantial piece of luggage history that makes an incredible statement piece for home decor, storage, or display. These trunks originally sold for the equivalent of $2,500-3,000 in today’s money. Cash only, local pickup preferred (Fort Collins). Asking $800 OBO for the trunk and briefcase set.
