Position Purpose:
The Safety Manager is directly responsible for managing the safety and risk associated with construction projects and company operations. This individual proactively plans and implements the Company’s safety program to ensure a safe, healthy and accident free workplace. The Safety Manager supports field staff and project management in ensuring projects are conducted in a safe manner for protection of employees, clients, subcontractors and the general public.
The Safety Manager reports directly to the President through proactive and frequent communication.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
• Periodic Project Safety Audits to ensure Company and its job sites remain hazard and accident free
• Workers Compensation Program
• Claims Management
• Compliance with all applicable federal, state, county and local safety related regulations
• Plan and implement programs to train company employees on worksite safety practices, personal protective equipment and safe equipment operating techniques
• Facilitate training for company employees in First Aid and CPR.

Qualifications and Expectations:
• 5-10 years of experience with Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety Management, Environmental Science, Occupational Health or other related field / 10-15 years of construction experience managing/directing at management level
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Safety Training experience
• Public Speaking experience

Technical Knowledge:
• OSHA 1910 & 1926
• Worker’s Compensation Regulations
• Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety Management, Environmental Science, Occupational Health or other related field (Relevant experience can be substituted for education requirement) OR 10+ years of professional construction safety experience.
