Great car with lots of work done to get it running incredibly well. I recently bought a more practical off-road and cargo capable car and can't keep this one. This legendary E46 wagon chassis with the M54 straight-6 engine absolutely rips. It is extremely fun to drive while still having all the luxury interior features- power and heated seats, right mirror auto tilt for parallel parking, back window hatch, hand adjustable headlight positioning, and more) Runs extremely well with no check engine light in the last 4000+ miles. Interior is in very good condition. Passed emissions tests with flying colors just a week ago. (paper work). Includes the last parts that I just couldn't get around to installing myself- Full CCV System and front CV Axle/ bearings.
In the two years I have owned it, I have done a lot of the standard E46 repairs/replacements and more:
Side mirrors- Jan '24
Upgrade to Xenon headlights- Jan '24
Radiator- Aug '24
Power Steering Pressure line hose Assembly- Aug '24
Belt Tensioner Pulley- Aug '24
Engine Coolant Reservoir and mounting plate- Aug '24
Alternator- Jan '25
Fuel Filter- March '25
Purge Valve- March '25
Coolant Flush- April '25
Cabin Air filter- Aug '25
Front Windshield Wiper Blades- Oct '25
Engine Splash Guard- Dec '25
Oil filter Housing Gasket- Dec '25
(Paper work for the major replacements)
With the car you will get:
Front CV Assembly (Still in the box)
Front Bearings (Still in the box)
OEM Cold weather CCV system (Still in the box)
Rear brake pad replacements (Still in the box)
BMW- Specific 32mm fan wrench and pry bar (used twice)
Brand new spare wheel + tire
Total of $550 in new parts
I have used 5W-40 in this car for a while now as is common with older E46s. Oil changes every 3,000-4,000 miles over the last two years. All lights in and on the car are fully operational. The CCV system needs to be replaced ASAP (very common in E46s) otherwise you will continue to see really high oil consumption. The CV Axles should be replaced in the next 5000 miles but are not making noise.
As pictured, there is a good bit of rear body damage from previous owner hitting "at least one mailbox"
Happy to talk through any questions on maintenance history or current condition.
