If you know Corvettes, you know how hard it is to find a clean, well fitted 1981 with a four speed—and this is one of the good ones. This Corvette has been carefully maintained, properly driven, and consistently enjoyed the way a C3 should be.
The car runs strong and is a true driver, professionally tuned by Lars. It has competed in the Black Hills Corvette Classic for over a decade and earned first place in the C3 Division Autocross—proof that this isn’t just a showpiece, but a Corvette that performs.
While the car was repainted prior to my ownership, it has otherwise been preserved with original GM licensed parts. Thoughtful upgrades include a Viper alarm with remote locks, Kenwood radio, LED lighting, American Racing wheels, and Mickey Thompson tires. All original parts removed are included with the sale.
Finished with a blue cloth interior, this Corvette is equipped with the rare four speed manual transmission (no cruise control), power driver seat, power locks and tinted windows, removable glass roof panels (T tops), factory gauge package, rear defogger, and air conditioning converted to R134a. The car shows 89,270 miles and has always been garaged, covered, and well cared for. Everything works as it should.
This is one of the last Corvettes produced at the St. Louis assembly plant and it consistently draws attention at shows—often more than newer models. It’s the kind of car people recognize instantly and enthusiasts gravitate toward. These classic Corvettes have a host of imitators, but none of them strike your eye with such authority. Because the Corvette remains what they can only aspire to be... a legend. Still the only true American sports car.
