Starting Pay: $12.08 per hour
NATURE OF WORK: As a member of the Aquatics Division, individuals in this position are responsible for overall safety and conduct of the patrons using the pool and enforcement of the governing policies, rules and regulations in the pool area.
Lifeguards may work at either the indoor or outdoor pool. The outdoor pool is typically open from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Individuals in the position are required to perform work in a manner consistent with and exemplary of the Town’s PRIDE philosophies and the Town’s Equal Opportunity Employment policy.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Individuals work under the direct supervision and/or leadership of the Recreation Supervisor & Aquatics Coordinator to carry out assigned duties, functions, roles, and projects in both routine and complex circumstances.
SUPERVISION/LEADERSHIP EXERCISED: No supervisory responsibilities or control exercised.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND FORMAL TRAINING
Must be at least 15 years of age.
Previous lifeguarding experience preferred, but not required.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:
Current CPR and 1st Aide certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
