Dear Community,

My oldest son is autistic and LOVES coffee. At his old school, they built him an in-house coffee shop and designated him as the barista. My wife and I would love to eventually see him have a small coffee cart that he could operate as a potential job in the future. At this time we would like to build a coffee roaster so that he and us can learn how to roast beans. I do not have a lot of money but can come up with $400.00 to build the roaster at this time. We recently purchased (2) 32qt. steaming pots to convert into a rotisserie-type drum roaster. I have a few photos that I can send to try and paint a picture of what we are looking for. We would like to take the pots and weld them together to make a drum. The tops are not even, so we may have to add a steel band around it to make it seamless. I used a sharpie on the pots to give an idea of how we would like the finished product to look like. On one end we would like to make an access door for the beans. We are hoping to put an easy-access latch with two spring-action hinges. We would like to cut the handles off of the pots and use two of them for handles to lift the drum off of the heat and to place it on the heat. We are also hoping to add mixing fins on the inside to agitate the beans. Either 4 or 5 fins that run the length of the drum or smaller fins sporadically placed throughout for an even mix. If this is something you would like to help us out with, please feel free to give us a call or text us. Thank you for reading this post. We sincerely appreciate anyone who will help us with this.
